~ Marianne Williamson
At Jakki Ulrick Psychology, we take a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing that physical, emotional, and spiritual health are interconnected. We work with our clients to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses all aspects of their well-being. This includes nutrition, exercise, sleep, and other lifestyle factors that can impact mental health.
We understand that many of our clients have experienced trauma, which can impact their mental health and well-being. Jakki Ulrick provides trauma-informed care to help clients feel safe and supported during their therapy sessions. Jakki has specialized training in trauma-focused therapies, including EMDR and trauma focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

BRIDGE Program | SALT Psychology
Our trauma therapy sessions are designed to help clients heal from the effects of trauma, such as PTSD, childhood abuse, and sexual assault. We use evidence-based treatments, such as EMDR and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), to help clients process their trauma and develop coping skills to manage symptoms.
Our addiction recovery sessions are designed to help clients overcome substance use disorders and other addictive behaviours. We use evidence-based treatments, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), to help clients identify triggers, develop coping skills, and maintain sobriety. Harm minimisation strategies are also a focus, particularly when sobriety is not the goal for the client, but adopting safe measures and reduction are.
Our grief and loss sessions help clients process the emotional pain of losing a loved one or experiencing other significant losses. We provide clients with a supportive and compassionate space to express their feelings and work through the grieving process.
Our identity sessions help clients explore their cultural, gender, sexual and value-based identity and its impact on their mental health and well-being. We help clients understand the ways in which their identity and family background shapes their beliefs and values, and work with them to develop strategies to manage social stressors and build resilience.
It can be difficult growing up and navigating school, relationships, parental expectations, social media, and employment. Support is provided to children who are having some difficulties adjusting to certain areas in their life. We also provide support to teens who are figuring things out and need some encouragement and guidance. Mental health assessments and psychoeducational assessments can be provided. Jakki specialises in children who are in Care of the Department of Child Safety and offers flexible ways of engaging reluctant participants. Support is also provided to carers.
Our LGBTIQ+ sessions are designed to provide a safe and supportive space for LGBTIQ+ individuals to explore the unique challenges they face. We work with clients to address issues such as coming out, family and relationship dynamics, and discrimination; and provide them with the tools they need to build a fulfilling and authentic life.
Self-harm can be a confronting and worrying issue to deal with for both adolescents and their parents/carers. Jakki can help families gain understanding of this behaviour and assist the adolescent to develop more adaptive coping strategies and harm minimisation techniques.
Connection is paramount for children and their parents. Our parenting support sessions provide parents with the tools and strategies they need to navigate the challenges of raising children. We help parents develop effective communication skills, set boundaries, and build healthy relationships with their children.

Our individual therapy sessions are designed to help clients navigate a wide range of mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to trauma and relationship issues. We utilize evidence-based treatments to help clients build resiliency, develop healthy coping skills, and achieve their goals. Referrals for a Mental Health Care Plan can be arranged through your G.P. If you are a parent, you may need to arrange one for yourself, as well as your child.
Our couples therapy sessions help partners deepen their connection, improve communication, and resolve conflict. We work with couples to identify patterns of behaviour that may be causing distress and provide tools to help them build a stronger, healthier relationship. An initial session will be conducted with both members of the couple, followed by separated sessions, and then sessions back together. This is a private fee paying service.
Our family therapy sessions are designed to help families build stronger relationships, improve communication, and resolve conflicts. We believe that every family has unique strengths, and we work with families to identify those strengths and build on them to create a more positive and supportive family environment. Family therapy is a private fee paying service.
Our teletherapy sessions allow clients to receive quality mental health care from the comfort and convenience of their own home. We utilize a secure and easy-to-use platform to provide clients with a safe and confidential space to discuss their concerns and work towards their goals. Phone calls can be arranged in the Medical on Miami clinic, however, Teletherapy is conducted in the SALT Psychology clinic.
Our mindfulness-based therapy sessions help clients develop a more mindful and compassionate relationship with themselves and others. We utilize mindfulness-based techniques to help clients reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and cultivate greater self-awareness and acceptance. It may be useful at times to walk during the session rather than sitting in the office. Please request this in advance if this is your preference or a barrier to seeking support.
